Flying problems13

2390 $

This painting was created in 2023. This year I was looking for a balance between life and desire while going out, and the work turned into lively small-size paper creations.

The "Problems of Flying" series was painted in my free time at work this year. After sweating profusely every day, cherish the remaining time to fly —— choose what to eat tonight, what speed and posture to walk on the road, and count the days to meet friends and lovers.
The problem of flying is the problem of freedom, but freedom is an abstract word that exists in the imagination, while flying is a concrete problem in practice——how to take off, which direction the wind is coming from, which sky it is in, how long you have enough physical strength to fly, constant adjustments attitude and when to land.

Creative themes and style |   My works revolve around the creative concept of  "The land of humanity, People on the land". The people in the painting are people in nature, and the lines, shapes, and colors are close to nature. The nature in the painting is nature in the eyes of humans, existing in interaction with humans.I don’t pursue a series of works with a fixed and continuous style. I hope that the style of the pictures will synchronize with the changes in my life and always remain oscillating. The performance of the work must be in sync with the development of one's own life in order to be Sincere and powerful. Ideas are later.

The Problem of Flying taps into the interplay of emptiness and substance inherent in Eastern aesthetics, crafting a philosophical vision centered on “flight”. Within the painting, the artist wields color like a brush to carve out a distinct spiritual realm. The figure, rendered in a fluid, ethereal blue, evokes the concept of “qi” — a vital energy in Taoist thought. This shade isn’t merely a hue; it symbolizes the clarity and freedom of a spirit unshackled, mirroring the “translucent awakening” of existence in traditional Chinese philosophy.

In the background, warm browns and amber - hued mountains merge with the fiery red of the setting sun. Though the color palette is restrained, it conjures a profound sense of time and space. The earth’s weighty tones ground the scene in reality, while the sun’s glow infuses it with romanticism, granting the “flight” motif a dual nature: rooted in Eastern aesthetic traditions, yet charged with the urge to break free toward the horizon. The blue - green interplay between the figure and the water blurs the line between reality and imagination, echoing the “negative space” of classical Chinese painting. It invites viewers to ponder spiritual transcendence — suggesting that when life demands breakthroughs, this dialogue between color, nature, and self holds the key to “flight”. By honoring nature and opening the soul, anyone can embark on a spiritual soar uniquely their own.

With minimalist brushstrokes, the artist embraces the Chinese artistic principle of “expressing complexity through simplicity”, using color as a bridge between heaven, earth, and the human spirit. Anchored in Eastern cultural roots, the work redefines “flight”: it isn’t about mechanical propulsion, but about turning inward. In this dialogue between color and nature, the soul — like the figure in the painting — sheds worldly constraints, embracing boundless spiritual freedom with authenticity. It reminds us that in Eastern aesthetics, “flight” is a reconciliation of soul and nature, mediated by color — life’s most sincere, romantic answer to freedom.
