Flying problems—Test the waters

780 $

This painting was created in 2023. This year I was looking for a balance between life and desire while going out, and the work turned into lively small-size paper creations.

White bird
Close and open leg
Repeat over and over.
White and black time
Only crosses the line at its toes
Spread out in circles.

Creative themes and style |   My works revolve around the creative concept of  "The land of humanity, People on the land". The people in the painting are people in nature, and the lines, shapes, and colors are close to nature. The nature in the painting is nature in the eyes of humans, existing in interaction with humans.I don’t pursue a series of works with a fixed and continuous style. I hope that the style of the pictures will synchronize with the changes in my life and always remain oscillating. The performance of the work must be in sync with the development of one's own life in order to be Sincere and powerful. Ideas are later.

This unnamed piece uses poetic brushstrokes to sketch a fantastical scene. In the painting, figures and natural elements dance together. The outline lines, like lively ribbons, gently wrap around the figure’s outstretched posture, as if embracing the world and merging the individual into the vast universe. Composition - wise, the figure sits at the center, with outstretched limbs reaching to both sides, echoing the waves below and the hazy color blocks above. It’s like building a bridge between reality and fantasy, guiding the eye to wander freely.

The use of color is bright and layered. Warm yellow acts as the dominant tone, like the gentle afternoon sun, spreading across the painting and conveying warmth and hope. The blue waves and light - gray raindrops intersperse, like cool musical notes, blending into a lively rhythm and giving the painting a vivid sense of breath. The painting style leans toward lyrical expressiveness. It abandons fine realism; through freely blended colors and simply sketched lines, it endows the image with romantic qualities. It’s as if a magic spell is cast on the painting, making every color block and every line a voice of emotion.

The emotional expression is sincere and powerful. The figure’s open posture is a passionate embrace of the unknown, turning “flight” (or the yearning to transcend reality) into concrete artistic language, conveying the optimism of breaking free from constraints and rushing toward the vastness. When it comes to similar artists, it resonates with Marc Chagall’s dreamy painting style. Both use surreal combinations to convey pure philosophical thoughts. However, this work has more of the understated and lively qualities of Oriental ink painting. It weaves the longing for freedom into the flowing watercolor washes, making this unnamed piece a key to touch the viewer’s soul. In the harmony of colors and lines, it plays a melody about courage and yearning, stirring people’s innermost desire for boundless exploration and letting the light of art illuminate the poetic daydreams in ordinary daily life.
