190 x 210 cm5800 $

This painting was created in 2022. This year, the painting style changed sharply, from the usual low and harmonious gray colors to conflicting bright colors. At the same time, it raised a big question mark about life.

Rain nourishes the earth and grains grow. Countless rains, countless grains, countless meshes, countless fish. We know it is countless because someone has been counting.

Creative themes and style |   My works revolve around the creative concept of  "The land of humanity, People on the land". The people in the painting are people in nature, and the lines, shapes, and colors are close to nature. The nature in the painting is nature in the eyes of humans, existing in interaction with humans.I don’t pursue a series of works with a fixed and continuous style. I hope that the style of the pictures will synchronize with the changes in my life and always remain oscillating. The performance of the work must be in sync with the development of one's own life in order to be Sincere and powerful. Ideas are later.

“Grain Rain” sets the ocean as a stage, weaving a vibrant fishing scene. In the painting, the fishing boat, as the narrative starting - point, moors quietly at the corner, like a composed “ocean watcher”. The huge red fishing net, the visual core, acts as a lively “life catcher”, stretching and curling among the waves, slicing the sea into rich - layered blues. It doesn’t just trap fish and shrimp, but also the hope bestowed by the ocean.

In composition, the fishing net spreads in a radial pattern at the center, rippling like water - ripples and guiding the viewer’s eyes to explore deeper. The line connecting the boat and the net is like an invisible story thread, linking the daily routine of marine labor. This layout echoes the “interdependence of void and solid” in traditional painting. The “solid” of the net and the “void” of the sea blend, expanding spatial dimensions and endowing the static canvas with dynamic tension.

Color serves as an emotion catalyst: The sea’s blue varies in layers, like countless “blue sprites” leaping. The red net, a flaming blaze, lights up the ocean’s depth. The pink - purple sky, as the background, softens the heaviness of labor. The collision of warm and cool tones generates an atmosphere that’s both passionate and tranquil — passion for life’s surge, tranquility for reverence of nature’s gifts.

The painting style blends expressionism and surrealism. It abandons trivial realism, using exaggerated lines and rich colors to amplify the poetry of marine labor. The net’s texture resembles the earth’s veins; each line tells of cultivation and harvest. The sea’s ripples are time’s folds, recording the cycle of tides and life.

Emotions hide in details: The net’s open posture is enthusiasm embracing the ocean; the boat’s waiting, anticipation for a good harvest. Together, they convey optimism — during Grain Rain, the ocean generously opens its arms, and life cycles between fishing and receiving. It’s a tribute to nature’s order.

It evokes Chagall’s dreamy narration, yet “Grain Rain” has more earthly charm. It injects Van Gogh’s color heat into marine labor scenes, using an artistic eye to salvage ordinary days. It tells viewers: Each surge of the ocean, each stretch of the net, is a dance between life and nature. The Grain Rain net traps not just the foundation of life, but also the forever - upward hope for the future.
